Hair Myths

  • How many times do you hear this in a year;'' Black hair does not grow'' ''My hair is not growing''. These are all lies the average growth rate for your hair in a year is 6 inches in year and if you have been growing your hair for over ten years and you are underneath even the 6inch mark something is terribly wrong.
  • Products can grow hair; no magic potion, hair food , hair repair cream can help your hair grow. There are chemicals that can stimulate hair growth but I doubt you will find that in any product you buy in any haircare shop. If you are having problems with your scalp it is better to consult a specialist. If this was true we would all have hair down to our back.
  • Using hair grease on your scalp hair will moisturise your hair. Using hair grease will block your pores and air reaching your scalp and well could suffocate your hair. To moisturise your hair you need water. Imagine your hair as a plant what happens when you do not water a plant, it  will wither and die. If your hair does not receive water it will have the same fatal end.
  • Washing your hair is bad. If you do not wash your hair again you are straying away from water. washing your hair removes all the buildup from all the products you put into hair overtime. And conditioning your hair will infuse back the needed moisture.
  • Relaxer grows hair, we do not even need to go into this. A relaxer is a product which changes the chemical structure of your hair by breaking the hydrogen bonds in your hair achieving the straight texture.
  • Trimming you hair will stimulate it to grow-  trimming your hair or cutting it will not send a signal to your scalp for our hair cells to multiply and grow. But trimming is important to get rid of single strand knots, dead ends or  split ends.
These are a few hair myths but there are plenty out there so watch out what you listen to guys!
